MICHAEL J. FIORILLO

Attorney Fiorillo has been practicing law for over 25 years.   A native of Schuylkill County, he attended Dickinson College where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree.  He then attended The Dickinson School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor Degree.  While attending Dickinson, he was on the Dickinson Law Review and published an article on malpractice.

Upon graduation from law school, Attorney Fiorillo returned to Schuylkill County where he has been practicing both civil and criminal litigation.  His practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in civil litigation, including personal injury, malpractice, slip and fall, car accident and other injury cases.  In addition, Attorney Fiorillo has an extensive practice in bad faith litigation against insurance companies.  This area involves representing clients who believe that their insurance company has not adequately compensated them for damages as a result of property loss.

Insurance companies are responsible under Pennsylvania law for adequately compensating their insured and are liable for bad faith damages if they do not adequately and fairly handle a claim.

Attorney Fiorillo has also practiced extensively in criminal defense, including defending clients for a myriad of charges ranging from felonies and misdemeanors to DUIs and summary (traffic) violations. He has practiced extensively in both state and federal court and has had numerous civil and criminal trials.  He has successfully recovered millions of dollars for his clients.

Attorney Fiorillo has also taught classes at local business schools training paralegals.  These classes include Tort Law, Business Law, Real Estate and Legal Research and Writing. Attorney Fiorillo has also represented numerous clients in employment discrimination cases, including discrimination for age, sex, religion and sexual harassment. In addition, he practices extensively in handling corporate, real estate and estate planning issues, including preparation of wills and living trusts, social security disability, and unemployment compensation.

In 2006, Attorney Fiorillo was appointed a Master and Custody Officer in the Court of Common Pleas of Schuylkill County.  As such, he decides divorce, support and custody cases including requests for special relief and contempt.  Accordingly, he is not permitted to represent any clients in any family law matters in Schuylkill County.  However, he is allowed to represent clients in such cases in any other county.  He has practiced extensively in surrounding counties including Berks, Luzerne, Northumberland, Lehigh, Lebanon, Montour and Lackawanna.
